ANALYSIS
Feed
Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopic reflectance analysis allows rapid determination of the nutritional value of a forage. The method is quick and inexpensive in addition to being available for most types of forage.
Chemical analysis are available for all types of livestock feed including liquid products.
The government requires that each producer who makes medicated feed on the farm obtains a milling licence (feed, premix). A coefficient of variation analysis is necessary to acquire this permit. Nine samples are needed for the analysis.
Mycotoxins have a significant incidence in animal nutrition. Identifying and measuring mycotoxins is a prerequisite for solving any problem.
Manure
An analysis of the composition of manure or slurry is required in order to manage nutrients effectively. The determination of N,P and K provides information regarding the fertilizing value. Using this information, combined with soil testing, will facilitate the development of nutrient management plans in accordance with regulations. This will lead to the effective application of manure in the fields where it will provide the most value.
Water
Water is a vital element for all living beings. Its quality is just as crucial as its quantity.
Farm water quality can have economic repercussions for farmers, as it affects livestock, crops and the effectiveness of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals.
